For Lancroft, reliability was the other major factor: “we have to support the site long after the installation is complete” states Steve, “so it’s understandably important that the equipment we install is reliable as clearly neither we nor the site management want us to be called back regularly. We have used BPT and Impro equipment frequently and we know it to be exceptionally reliable.”

Lancroft installed a dedicated 1GB IP network as the backbone of the security systems, as it provides flexibility for the site, allowing for other systems to be added as and when required. In addition, this IP network solution will accommodate the scheduled control equipment move from its temporary location to a permanent site as the development progresses, with minimal loss of coverage.

The security systems at GWQ have been designed and installed by Lancroft to fulfil the police’s ‘Secured By Design’ criteria, which focuses on crime prevention at the design, layout and construction stages of homes and commercial premises and promotes the use of security standards for a wide range of applications and products.
